Unfortunately if you are only using a dial-up connection then realistically your download speed will probably not be quick enough for you to enjoy audio and video files. You should however still be able to enjoy the rest of the site!

Browsing the website while listening to audio files

Audio files
The audio files on this website are MP3 files. Windows Media Player is probably the best player to use as it streams the file and starts playback almost immediately. Most other applications and plug-ins download more of the file before they start playback.

Playing the audio files with Windows Media Player
When you click the play button Windows Media Player will open and the song should start playing almost immediately. Once this has happened you can reduce or minimize the player and navigate the site. If Media player does not play the files then another application has set itself as the default MP3 player.

To set Media player as the default MP3 player.
Open the player, select Tools, then Options, then click the Files Types tab and check the MP3 audio files box and click apply. If the box is already checked then another program has overridden these settings. In this case uncheck the box, click apply, re-check the box and click apply once again. This should have reset Windows Media Player as the default MP3 player. (These settings are for Media player 11 and may vary slightly on other versions)

If you aren't using Media Player
When you click the play button you will probably have to wait for the plug-in to download all or part of the song before it plays. Depending on your download speed this could take anything from a few seconds to a minute. During this time you will unfortunately have to be patient because clicking on anything else will cancel the download. It may sometimes look as though nothing is happening during this process and you may even have 'Done' come up on the bottom of the window but, in Internet Explorer for example, the circle in the tab at the top of the window will be going around indicating the download is still taking place. When enough of the file has been downloaded the window will possibly show the QuickTime logo, a control bar and then the song should start playing. You can control playback by using the control bar on the page. To navigate the website during playback see "Browsing the website while playing audio files" above.
